Celtics Eliminate Raptors to Advance to NBA Eastern Conference Finals

There will not be a repeat champion in the NBA this year.

Jayson Tatum scored 29 points and Jaylen Brown added 21 as the third seeded Boston Celtics beat the #2 Toronto Raptors 92-87 on September 11th to win their NBA Eastern Conference Semifinal four games to three.

Five players scored in double figures for Toronto, led by Fred VanVleet with 20. The Celtics had taken a two games to none lead in the series, but the Raptors took the next two to even it up. Both of the top two seeds in the East have now been eliminated; #5 Miami eliminated top seeded Milwaukee earlier. The Celtics and Heat will meet in the Eastern Conference Finals with Game 1 on September 15th.
