Yesterday on the Wheel of Fortune

It’s Wheel of Fortune, America’s Game and we’re posting the Bonus Puzzle with the winner’s final prize amount. By way of comparison, the Jeopardy! payoff is also included with a link to the recap of that game.

These common letters are always turned over in the bonus puzzle before the player chooses letters: R, S, T, L, N, E

Thu 5-2-24: On Wheel of Fortune: $15,600
On Jeopardy: $18,001

PHRASE: _ _ T 🟪 _ _ 🟪 S _ _ H T

With a potential million on the line, Charlene chose the letters H, M, P and A. She got one H out of that! Charlene couldn’t solve this one simply because she thought the second word was “AT”, not realizing both letters would be visible. The bonus prize was
_ _ T 🟪 _ _ 🟪 R E _ _ _
but, Pat pointed out, it was “only” $40K and not the million.

I’ve been playing Phrasle online everyday for a while now, mainly because some of the phrases bring back memories. I’ve decided to post the previous day’s solution here because I think it’s also a useful tool in helping one recognize word patterns (sort of like cryptograms). Give it a try!

Yesterday’s Phrasle Solution:
Thu 5-2-24: LICK YOUR WOUNDS
Person of Interest: Endgame (2013) – “I’m surprised you’re still in town. Figured you be on a beach somewhere, sipping mai tais and licking your wounds.”
