White Sox’ Yasmani Grandal Drives in Eight Runs in Return From the Injured List

Sometimes when baseball players return from a stint on the injured list, it takes a game or two to get their hitting back up to speed. This was not the case for Chicago White Sox catcher Yasmani Grandal. Grandal returned to the line up on August 27th in an interleague game against the Chicago Cubs. In a wild football score game, Grandal was four for six with two homers and eight RBIs in the White Sox 17-13 win over the Cubs.

It was Grandal’s first game since suffering a knee injury on July 5th. The White Sox have a comfortable ten game lead over Cleveland in the A.L Central. Besides Grandal, starting pitcher Carlos Rodon recently returned from the injured list. Rodon picked up his 10th victory of the season in his return on August 26th as Chicago beat Toronto 10-7.
