TNT Cancels Dallas: No Season 4!
TNT has officially announced the cancellation of Dallas (2012). A network spokesperson said “TNT has decided not to renew Dallas. We are extremely proud of the series, which defied expectations by standing as a worthy continuation of the Ewing saga. We want to thank everyone involved with the show, from the extraordinary cast to the impeccable production team, led by the show’s creative forces, Cynthia Cidre and Mike Robin.” The spokesperson also thanked the people of Dallas “for their warm and generous hospitality during the production of the series.”
It’s a big blow to the show’s fans, especially after Cynthia Cidre revealed many of her plans for Season 4 and seemed pretty confident that a renewal was on the horizon — so much so that she has already written several episodes. Fans are already hoping that the show will be picked up by another network.
Here are our favorite moments from Season 3, Part 2:
Denial, Anger, Acceptance (8/18/2014): “Well, it was an interesting thing for Nicolas to say about Papi. Did he think Drew was going to heaven or does he know that Papi is in hell, too?”
Dead Reckoning (8/25/14): “Elena later sees John Ross outside drinking. She starts drinking herself and breaks out her diaphragm – the one Nicolas poked holes in.”
Hurt (9/1/2014): John Ross “asks Nicolas if he knows how Elena got J.R.’s letter and explains that Elena came to him and he can figure out the rest, but who knew what a thieving whore she was.”
Victims of Love (9/8/2014): “Before leaving Dallas, Luis pays the Rylands a goodbye visit. He has a present for Judith — a gift-wrapped box containing the severed hands of Candace.”
The best scene in the 2-hour finale was when Nicolas Trevino sent his thug to the jail to kill Luis and El Pozolero (Orestes). This was done by one man. He bribes a guard, gets into the cell and smothers El P. Then he goes over and wakes Luis up who says in Spanish: “You don’t have the balls”. In reply, the assassin turns Luis’ head to the left so he can have a glimpse of his dead mentor just before he gets his brains blown out. That was followed by a meeting with Trevino who speculated on his reunion with the pregnant Elena. But Cynthia Cidre has already said that Nicolas is not the father of Elena’s baby. So she must know who is and fans will now have to wait until she decides to share that information.
