The Masters Golf Tournament and Boston Marathon Postponed Due to Coronavirus

A day after cancelling several events on the tour, it was announced that The Masters Golf Tournament will be postponed due to the ongoing Coronavirus, or Covid-19 virus pandemic. The Masters, held at Augusta National in Georgia, has been an annual April fixture on the sports calendar since 1946. No word yet on when the tournament will be played. Tiger Woods won The Masters in 2019:

Another April sports tradition, the Boston Marathon, has been postponed from April 20th, Patriots’ Day, to September 14th. In the past, the Boston Red Sox played an early (11:00 a.m.) starting time day game on Patriots’ Day as part of the celebration; the Red Sox have an off day on September 14th this year. But with the baseball season delayed, some or all games could be rescheduled, and there could be a Red Sox game that day yet.

Other upcoming marathons have also been postponed or cancelled due to the Coronavirus. The Rome Marathon , set for March 29th, was cancelled. The Barcelona Marathon has been postponed from March 15th to October 25th. The Paris Marathon has been moved from April 5th to October 18th and the London Marathon has been moved from April 26th to October 4th.
