Supporting Cast: We Become What We … Frank! – Shameless
Here are some of the actors and actresses who appeared in the Season 8 premiere of Shameless (11-5-17): The recap of the episode is here.
We don’t know who played the Patsy’s Pie patron at the counter as it appears to be an uncredited role, but he got quite an earful when Fiona gave a very explicit retelling of her Tinder adventures to Veronica. “Eat your quinoa,” Fiona told him when she noticed him listening in. Actually, he couldn’t help overhearing it.
Nessa, played by Jessica Szohr, is a tenant in Fiona’s new apartment building. She moved in there to escape gender persecution in the suburb of Oak Brook before Fiona became the owner. Previous owner Ryan didn’t take care of the place and she appointed herself the unpaid superintendent, fixing “lightbulbs, clogged toilets, leaky faucets, stuff like that.” Nessa told Fiona about the tenants: an old cat lady with cancer who’s been living there since the South seceded from the Union; a vet with PTSD who always has good weed; a couple of junkies who fight a lot and start fires; and a woman “with the couple dozen kids from a couple dozen different dads. The kids are a terror.” She was exaggerating, we hope, especially about the fires.
Jasmine B. Johnson was one-half of the couple who wanted to rent Fiona’s vacant apartment. We don’t know who played her man. Ryne (Anthony Traina) made the $950 offer, but Nessa later marveled that Fiona got $1,000 for the place, so that could have been one or two more bids. We were just wondering if that was the only vacancy in the whole building. Counting Nessa, the tenants she rattled off and this apartment, it would be 6. The place looked bigger than that from the outside, we thought.
Levy Tran plays Eddie. She works at the motorcycle shop where Lip now has a job. What a meanie! She’s got such a bad attitude, you can’t even say hello to her, nevermind make casual conversation. Brad warned Lip that she also has a fearsome reputation that includes putting the hurt on a big Samoan bouncer at the Three Aces club.
Brad Beyer played the head of the ICE squad that was going around town rounding up illegals. Veronica put them on to Svetlana and her stable of Russian prostitutes. Svetlana was maddder than a hornet when they handcuffed her and stuck her in the paddy wagon. She spit at the agent. Veronica, the winner of this round, just stood there staring straight in Svetlana’s face as they hauled her off.
Cris D’Annunzio played the angry man who was trying to con Debbie that he lost his ticket at the parking garage. Debbie was very professional throughout the entire encounter, even when he got abusive and threatened to get out of his car and eff her up. She showed him a Taser and superglue and said: “if you were to get out of your truck, I would have to Tase you and then superglue your mouth and eyelids shut until the police arrive. Now, will that be cash or credit, sir?”
Now that Liam is older, he is no longer being portrayed by twins, Branden and Brenden Sims, who played him for most of the prior 7 seasons. Christian Isaiah is the new Liam. He is now the token black at the hotsy totsy prep school Frank got him a scholarship for and it’s funny because both of Liam’s parents (Frank and Monica) are white, a fact proven with a paternity test.
