Supporting Cast of He Be Tight. He Be Mean: Ray Donovan

Here are some of the actors who appeared in “He Be Tight. He Be Mean.” (11-11-2018), the third episode of “Ray Donovan,” Season 6 The episode recap is here.

Sandy Patrick in Ray Donovan

You, me and Mick, we run St. Paul’s Orphanage.

Sandy Martin played Sandy Patrick, Mickey’s former sister-in-law. She’s been enlisted to help Mickey and Bunchy Donovan get across the Canadian border. That appears to be their only hope after Bunchy clobbered a prison security guard and helped Mickey escape from the hospital bed he was handcuffed to. Then they kidnapped Bunchy’s daughter and took her to New York. Sandy’s plan is to impersonate a nun and the Donovan boys will pose as priests. They are taking an orphan to a new adoptive home in Montreal. She has the costumes and is working on the legal papers but what are the chances of it all going smoothly with perennial screw-ups like Mickey and Bunchy? It’s more likely that Sandy will end up doing time for aiding and abetting two fugitives, not to mention being charged as an accomplice in Jay White’s kidnapping if Mickey brings him to her home.

Max Crumm in Ray Donovan

Uzis are hard to come by

Max Crumm played Parker, who was helping Jay White by getting the props he demanded, like an Uzi instead of an M16. The Uzi demand was just a ruse. Parker was really bringing Jay “medication for his tortured mind,” at least until Daryll got schooled by K’Lei Hughes that he was supposed to be Jay’s enabler to expedite the production of “Mr. Lucky.” Actually, it was Parker who got lucky that he was not there when Mickey came for Jay and Daryll.

Alexandra Turshen in Ray Donovan

I used to model back in L.A. and date Lena

Alexandra Turshen played Justine, the woman who helped set up John Crane, the moderator of a gubernatorial debate between Sam Winslow’s candidate, Anita Ward, and Mr. Ferrati. She seduced Crane and videotaped it all so that Ray Donovan could blackmail him. Ray thought that Justine was still interested in Lena when she asked him if Lena had ever mentioned her before. Ray gave Lena some extra money so she could take Justine out to dinner at Raoul’s.

Dirty political tricks on Ray Donovan

Dirty Politics

Steve Witting played John Crane (left). Justine’s tape was used to blackmail him into bringing up racism at a particular point in the debate and forcing him to call on Cesar Martinez (Jorge Chapa, middle), who used to be the driver for Mr. Ferrati (Zach Grenier, right), Anita Ward’s opponent. Ferrati was ambushed with accusations of being biased against many minorities. He got the shaft. Cesar Martinez got $25K and a ticket back to Mexico. He was promised more money when he got there on condition that he turns over his passport until the election is over. Hopefully, John Crane got the video and a good lesson that hot young blondes don’t really think he’s the man.

Robert Lee Leng in Ray Donovan

Have a pina colada on me.

Robert Lee Leng played Young Au, the grandson of Charlie Au. Mickey went to see Old Man Au, unaware that he died from a pulmonary embolism. He asked Young Au if he was in the same line of business as his grandfather, meaning gun running. If not, Young Au must have known someone who was because Mickey soon turned up on the set of “Mr Lucky” with a weapon.

Jacob Ming-Trent in Ray Donovan

You’re never too old to crack a few skulls and make a little extra scratch.

Jacob Ming-Trent played “Big Easy,” a guy who stopped by Terry’s gym to suggest that Terry might want to participate in Fatal Friday boxing matches. Terry must be bored because he went to check it out and the preview showed him getting a beating that matched the description of the event. So far there has been no mention whatsoever of Damon, the kid that Terry was training in Season 5.

Other notes:

• Ray’s “independent woman” daughter, Bridget, is always looking for reasons to come down on Ray for trying to take care of her. She got annoyed with him for having an extra bedroom in his new place in case she needed to stay over. She got annoyed with him for asking whether Smitty, her future hubby, has a job yet, saying she could take care of him. After all that, she accepted the internship on Anita Ward’s campaign that Ray arranged through his connections.
• Lena is another one with a chip on her shoulder. She is always mad that Ray doesn’t pay more attention to her. Then when he does, instead of simply thanking him and appreciating it, she says: “Who are you?”
