Supporting Cast: My Oldest Daughter: Shameless
Here is the supporting cast of from My Oldest Daughter, the second episode of Season 4 of Shameless:
Johanna Braddy played Shelly, a tutor at MIT, who gave Lip extra credit when he was able to figure out what a subprime mortgage is. Lip wanted to get to know her better, preferably at her apartment off-campus but Shelly has no interest in Lip beyond tutoring — it’s like being your babysitter, she tells him. Besides, she’s pretty much pegged Lip for a loser. She’s got her eye on Charlie Watts who is studying for his Ph.D, and tells Lip to give her a call when he’s in grad school.
James Allen McCune makes a second appearance as Matty, the shy boy Debbie met at the mall last week. This time he appears in his own apartment, making dinner for the two of them. Now that we know he’s 20, we’re as nervous as anybody that this is going to end badly for both Deb and Matty, but he seems so harmless right now, we’re willing to give him the benefit of the doubt that he got that condom in his wallet the same way Debbie got one, from more experienced friends.
Jonathan Schmock played Allen Willard Kochek who decided against contesting his father Stan’s Will, leaving Kev the Alibi Room and settled for $500 a month for 2 years and smashing his father’s urn on the Alibi Room floor.

This show is by far the best show when it comes to introducing me to music, even better than Weeds or Grey’s Anatomy. I’m always looking up new songs every time there’s an episode, and this episode I discovered the band Mustachio thanks to their song “Light It Up” which played when Fiona was driving to her first appointment since her promotion (by the way, how long do you think it will be before another Gallagher completely destroys her car? The windshield incident was strike 1…)
I also loved the song they used when Fiona got her promotion, “Turn It Up” by Franc Wyte, what a great make-out song. I really do like Mike and Fiona’s relationship better than Fiona and Steve’s, I think it’s going to allow this season to take a much more interesting direction.
