Stars Beat Lightning 4-1 in Game 1 of Stanley Cup Finals

Dallas goalie Anton Khudobin stopped 35 of 36 Tampa Bay shots on goal, including 22 in the third period as the Stars beat the Tampa Bay Lightning 4-1 in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals in Edmonton on September 19th. Jason Dickinson, Joel Kiviranta, Joel Hanley, and Jamie Oleksiak scored the Dallas goals, and seven other players each had an assist. Yanni Gourde scored Tampa Bay’s lone goal in the first period.

While the Lightning now trails in the Finals after the first game, there may be help on the way. Steven Stamkos, the team captain who has not played since February 25th due to a lower body injury, is said to be close to returning, possibly even for Game 2 on September 21st. Stamkos had 29 goals and 37 assists in 57 regular season games before his injury.
