Sen. Harry Reid Channels His Inner Bryce Harper

A week or so ago, Washington Nationals super rookie Bryce Harper created a new catch phrase when he was asked by a reporter if he planned on having a beer when the Nationals went up to Toronto for an interleague series against the Blue Jays.  Harper is only 19, but that’s the legal drinking age in Ontario.  It turns out that Las Vegas native Harper is a Mormon, and doesn’t drink.  Harper’s now famous reply to the reporter was “that’s a clown question, bro.”

Well, another Nevadan who is a Nationals fan and Mormon couldn’t resist using the line.  When asked a question about immigration June 19th, Senator Harry Reid told reporter Steven Dennis “I don’t want to answer that question.  That’s a clown question, bro.”

Harper is hitting .289 with seven homers and 19 RBIs in 45 games for the front running—yes front running—Nationals, who lead the National League East by three games.
