Secret Life: Shotgun Recap

In Secret Life’s “Shotgun” (6/18/2012), Ben is really freaking out over the Bunsen Burner caper. Adrian drops by after her talk with her dad and he finds out that Ruben knows about the Pot Smoking caper. Adrian admits that involved a little loose lips on her part and says that her father likes and misses him. Ruben would like Ben to drop by sometime. Adrian doesn’t get why Ben is acting so weird, but we do. Ruben is an attorney and Ben already thinks he needs legal counsel.

Leo goes to see the Pudding Pops, but Dylan’s mother, Cecila, won’t answer the door. Dylan’s dad, Robert, doesn’t want her around anyway. Robert tells Leo everything he knows about the fire but he doesn’t know everything — no wonder, his daughter’s middle name is Pinocchio. Leo tells him about the science lab, Bunsen burner and marshmallows.

Cecilia starts eavesdropping on Dylan and her friend, Raven, who is the girl Jack plans on dating. She tells Dylan to drop Ben because he’s a dork — albeit a rich dork. “You can do better,” she says. Dylan may love Ben but Raven says she can’t keep dating Jack to get information because she does love Jack. Enter Cecilia who lets them know Leo is in the kitchen. Dylan is upset that her mom didn’t stay there to stick up for her. “We didn’t do anything,” she whines. She lies and says she never went into the lab.

Dylan’s Gang: Mercedes, Raven and Wendy

Back in the kitchen, Leo and Robert spar over whose child was the most at fault. Robert can’t believe Leo wants him to tell the police about the Bunsen burner. Ben wouldn’t last two minutes in prison, he says, and reminds Leo that Dylan is underage. Leo points out that Ben wouldn’t be roasting marshmallows: “He doesn’t cook.” Robert insists they should let it blow over, but Leo says he has grants at stake at his business, Boykewich International.

Ben finds out Ricky and Amy eloped from Ethan when he goes over to see Ruben. He is so shocked, when he goes in to see Ruben, he faints! Ben calls for medical assistance and Ben complains that his throat hurts and is taken to the hospital.

Ashley and Toby having sex is a secondary topic to Amy and Ricky’s elopement, but when Anne finds out she is more shocked that Ashley didn’t confide in her than that it happened. Amy thought it was happening a lot more than it has. But even bigger news: Ashley was accepted to a cooking school in Italy and she thinks Toby will want to go with her because she slept with him.

Grace’s return to Christianity is also featured in a sibling, half-sibling argument of sorts, where Tom pokes fun of Grace for saying she is Jacob’s half-sister. He keeps making half-man, half woman remarks. Jacob says he always thought of her as a full sister.
