Secret Life: Allies Recap

In the latest episode (5/14/12) of Secret Life of the American Teenager, Amy is really feeling overwhelmed. She’s having a bad day. She’s flunking summer school and dealing with bad vibes from Grace, Lauren and Adrian. Plus two of her friends from New York show up at the butcher shop and knock on Ricky’s door.

Jackie and Jane are single moms Amy met in New York. They drove all the way from Chicago with their kids! Amy told them they could crash with her for a couple of days if they were ever in California. Ricky’s not having it and wants to send them over to Amy’s dad, George, but Amy tells him to go over her dad’s himself. She wants to see her friends. Ricky winds up babysitting while the two young moms go out to see the sights. But what’s more, he’s enjoying it and one of the little boys asks him to be his dad!

Lauren is so fed up with Amy’s drama, that she decides to make an effort to repair her friendship with Madison who is overjoyed. Henry isn’t having that easy of a time with Ben and Alice isn’t having that easy of a time with Henry.

Adrian tries to warn Ben about Dylan’s possessive weirdness, but Ben is still living in a Delusional World. Bunny explains Dylan’s strategy to him — keep your friends close and your enemies closer. She calls him “noodlehead” and say “You’re just not feeling the leash. It’ll tighten up.” He thinks Leo put her up to it. Leo has no idea Bunny talked to Ben about it but pretty much says the same thing as Bunny when he finds out. Ben wonders if Camille and Betty will ever be friends. LOL.

Little do they know that Betty is having lunch with Camille and advising her how best to handle her ex-husband. Betty says Camille is too old to have kids anyway and Leo doesn’t want them. He can’t wait for Ben to go to college — far away. The difference between Betty and Dylan, though, is really huge. Betty sincerely wants to help Camille, she just has no sense of proper boundaries.

Grace tells Adrian that she will not have sex with Jack unless he makes a forever commitment to her. Grace says the next guy she sleeps with is going to be the last so that’s why she needs that commitment. Adrian laughs and doubts that Jack will go for that. But Grace is positive he will – it’s herself she’s not sure of. Well, she’s in for a rude shock. In spite of Jack’s lust for her little bod, he won’t even lie about it. He just can’t make that kind of commitment right now.

Omar has no such reservations and straight up proposes to Adrian, who can’t believe it. Is she thrilled? Not! She feels like he just ruined their relationship and now she can’t see him anymore, but Omar says she can take all the time she wants. He only wants to be with her and he doesn’t want her to be with anyone else. She can take a day, a month, a year or years — but no cheating. It was really sweet.

Jacob and Ethan’s plans to hook up with pretty 17-year girls are ruined by Ethan and Ricky’s foster mother, Margaret. She warns Jacob that he ought to find someone else to hang out with. No kidding. When he got caught sneaking out, Ethan claimed he was doing it so Jacob could copy his homework! Wow. Will Jacob get that at all and stay far away from Ethan?
