Russell Westbrook Sets Record for Career Triple Doubles

Russell Westbrook scored 28 points, had 13 rebounds, and 21 assists but the Atlanta Hawks edged the Washington Wizards 125-124 on May 10th. Westbrook is well known for triple doubles, and with this one, he’s now the all time career leader in the NBA. This was the 182nd triple double of Westbrook’s career, breaking the 47 year old record of 181 set by Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson.

At 32, Westbrook is nowhere near the end of his career based on how he’s playing this season. He is averaging 22 points and 11.6 rebounds and 11.6 assists per game. He leads the NBA in assists per game. With three games left, the Wizards are battling for the Eastern Conference’s final slot for the play-in round of the post season.
