Nic Cage’s No. 1 Superman Comic Found

Eleven years after the theft of Nicolas Cage’s DC “Actions Comic” No. 1 issue of “Superman,” a mint issue of the same comic book was found in a storage locker last week. The Ventura County Star reported on Sunday April 10th that after the discovery of the highly expensive collector’s item, the collector who originally sold it to Cage verified that it was one and the same.

The police now have the valuable 1938 comic, which originally sold for 10 cents, in their possession as they resume their investigation into the theft. Detective Don Hrycyk of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Art Theft Detail said that Cage will have to work out a little detail will his insurance company before it could be released to him, since the actor already accepted an insurance company payment for the item’s loss.

We don’t have a clue how you would go about working that out. We thought once you accept the money, if the item is recovered, the insurance company owns it, but if Nicolas Cage can work it out, maybe it will help him with his huge IRS tax debt.

Nicolas Cage is such a huge Superman fan that he named his youngest son Kal-El, Superman’s real name on Krypton.
