Michigan Beats UCONN in Men’s NCAA Basketball Championship Game
Elliot Cadeau scored 19 points and Morez Johnson Jr. had 12 points and 10 rebounds to lead Michigan to a 69-63 victory over in UCONN for the Wolverine’s second NCAA basketball title, and first since 1989.
Michigan was only 2 of 15 from three point range, but hit 25 of 28 free throws. The Wolverines were held to 69 points, after scoring a minimum of 91 in the rest of the tournament, but the Michigan defense kept the Huskies in check. Alex Karaban led UCONN with 17 points and 11 rebounds and Tarris Reed Jr. scored 13 with 14 rebounds.
Cadeau was named the game’s Most Outstanding Player. UCONN has had a pretty good run, finishing as national runner up, after winning the championship in 2022-3 and 2023-4.
