Jolie as Taylor or Zeta-Jones?

The UK Telegraph reports that Angelina Jolie and Catherine Zeta-Jones are both being considered to play Dame Elizabeth Taylor in a biopic which will mainly feature the tempestuous love affair between the legendary actress and Welsh actor, Richard Burton.

Although headlines are claiming that 35-year-old Jolie and 40-year old Zeta-Jones are “battling” over the role, Jolie has already said before the reports popped up, she hadn’t heard a word about it.

The rumors also say that Mike Nichols wants to produce and direct the film, basing it upon the book “Furious Love: Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, and the Marriage of the Century,” by Sam Kashner and Nancy Schoenberger.

We can’t really see Angelina Jolie in the role. It just looks like it would be easier to transform Catherine Zeta-Jones into a Liz look-a-like than Jolie.

But wait there are still other actresses who might fit the bill better than either one. How about Sherilyn Fenn or Mila Kunis?

Sherilyn in particular is extremely capable of projecting that Golden Age of Hollywood glamour.

At this stage, possible Burtons include Russell Crowe, Clive Owen and Colin Farrell, but if Jolie did get the role, wouldn’t Brad Pitt be the best pick?
