Joey Logano Wins 2015 Daytona 500

Joey Logano, who at age 24 has already had plenty of ups and downs in his racing career, had his biggest up moment to date on February 22nd, winning his first Daytona 500. It was an exciting race, with the only downer for race fans being the fact that it ended under the yellow caution flag rather than a possible sprint to the finish. Officials were acting under an abundance of caution after there was a wreck late in the race.

The victory also gave Logano an automatic berth in NASCAR’s season ending championship race on November 22nd. That’s a nine month season, so any babies conceived on Daytona Race Day (there were a lot of TV commercials during the broadcast) should be arriving about the time the Sprint Cup winner is decided in that last race.
