Jerry Seinfeld Tops Forbes’ Highest Paid Comedians List for 2015

Jerry Seinfeld raked in the big bucks– er, the biggest of the big bucks, for 2015 according to Forbes’ list of Highest Paid Comedian for 2015. To even get on this list, you had to be a comedian who earned over $7 million dollars and the prime source of that income had to come from concert ticket sales. The time period covered is June 1,, 2014 to June 1, 2015.

The video ascends beginning with No. 10. Why we don’t know since all the articles, including this one, either tell you who made No. 1 in the title or the first sentence. Here is the list anyhow:

1, Jerry Seinfeld $36 million
2. Kevin Hart $25.8
3. Terry Fator $21.5
4. (Tie) Jeff Dunham and Russell Peters $19
5. Aziz Ansari $9.5
6. Louis C.K. $9
7. Gabriel Iglesias $8.5
8. John Bishop $8
9. Dave Chappelle $7.5

Forbes points out that these ginormous incomes are gross. The taxman’s cut and management expenses were not deducted but they included a quote from Gary Bongiovanni, editor in chief of Pollstar: “Comedy in general can be very lucrative as a touring property in part because it is so inexpensive to produce the show. Some comedians just carry their own microphone and that’s it.” Therefore, we can reasonably assume that the taxman will take a bigger cut than the expenses.
