Jeff Gordon Will Sub for Dale Earnhardt, Jr.

With Dale Earnhardt Jr. experiencing concussion like symptoms, his racing team, Hendrick Motor Sports, was looking around for a substitute driver for the next two NASCAR races. Those two races are the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on July 24th and the Pennsylvania 400 at Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, PA on July 31st. The Hendrick team found a driver, and they’re bringing in a ringer: recently retired four time Winston Cup (now Sprint Cup) NASCAR champion Jeff Gordon.

Gordon retired after the 2015 season, but didn’t rule out the possibility of racing again in some capacity, and here he is. He’s a good pick for the Brickyard 400, as he won the race five times (1994, 1998, 2001, 2004, 2014). Here he is winning the 2014 race:
