WHAT IS CAMELOT?

Not long after President Kennedy’s assassination on 11/22/1963, his widow, Jacqueline, gave an interview to T.H. White for Life Magazine. This quote from that article is said be what led to the Kennedy years being associated with the 1960 musical “Camelot”:

“When Jack quoted something, it was usually classical. But I’m so ashamed of myself— all I keep thinking of is this line from a musical comedy. At night, before we’d go to sleep, Jack liked to play some records; and the song he loved most came at the very end of this record. The lines he loved to hear were: Don’t let it be forgot That once there was a spot For one brief shining moment that was known as Camelot.”

Since then, there have been various articles claiming that the former First Lady made that up, such as this one by Mark Steyn: “What rot. It was so not Camelot”.

Charles went with “Cats”. He bet and lost it all.

Martha got it right. She bet $1,000 and finished with $3,300.

Jeff wrote down “Sound of Music (was it a play?).” He lost his $1,200 bet and finished with $2,300.

A $5,000 bonus was added to Martha’s guaranteed $10,000 and her charity, College of the Atlantic, received $15,000. Jeff and Charles earned $10,000 for their respective charities: Beagles and Buddies and Cornerstone Schools of Alabama.

The last four of the five shows of 2001’s Celebrity Jeopardy! came from the Las Vegas Hilton, but why was the first show held in Los Angeles?

  2. Lou says:

Low scores again and darn those daily doubles. There was a game called last knight at Camelot which involved the sword called Excalibur. That Disney movie the sword in the stone also involved the same sword.
