TWO of the contestants got Final Jeopardy! right.
According to Wikipedia’s Co-Princes of Andorra article “Tradition holds that Charlemagne granted a charter to the Andorran people in return for their fighting against the Moors,” and that was what was known as a buffer state of which there were others. The Count of Urgell was Andorra’s original overlord but in 988, Count Borrell II traded Andorra to the Diocese of Urgell for land in Cerdanya. In 1607, King Henry IV of France officially made the King of France co-prince with the Bishop of Urgell. Over time, all the other buffer states were absorbed into Spain or France. Andorra is the only one that survived. The “Recent History” part of that article is particularly interesting. I wonder if the Bishop of Urgell misses the ham and cheese he got as tribute until 1993.WHAT IS ANDORRA?
The last time Andorra was the Final Jeopardy! response was on May 6, 2021, in the category Countries’ National Anthems
Heidi got it right. She bet $7,200 and finished with $14,500.
Brianne went with Portugal. She bet $13,795 and was left with $5.00.
Katrina got it right, too. She bet $7,401 and won the game with $27,601. Katrina Hill is the new Jeopardy! champ.

Missed the show entirely after leaving town for the day to escape the oppressive NW heat.
Thank goodness for this recap.
Guessed FJ correctly and also the “A” car make.
Happy to see Katrina winning this game and a big congrats to Heidi getting final correct. I am very happy that we have two permanent hosts for jeopardy in ken and mayim.
It’s almost the end of the season, and they didn’t get a 2nd-day champion. Let’s hope that tomorrow’s final episode will have a new champion contestant to get a 2nd-day champion.
Tomorrow is the last game of Season 38. Let’s see if we can end the season on a high note. If Katrina wins, she’ll get to relax for the next weeks to come back to defend in the Season 39 premiere.
