What did Ken say? “Hoe is never the answer!”
I wasn’t watching that closely, so, the only DD I concentrated on was the third, but got it. However I missed FJ with Nepal. I also thought it would be a tiny country (relatively), and vacillated between Bhutan and Nepal until I settled on the incorrect latter.
Jason, there’s just no way smaller countries could match India for most vegetarians just because of population. Nepal’s population is approx. 30M, way more than Bhutan. 38% of 30M is 11.4M. ‘Nuff said.
P.S. In Wednesday’s game, after Marisa came up with hoe, Ken said “No, never correct out here. Nobody should try “What’s a hoe?”
The clue was percentage, which is irrespective of population. No big thing.
Thank you for the clarification as to what Ken said. That brought to mind when there was an eel to be identified, and Ken pointed with his left hand and said, “That’s a moray!”
Yes, Jason, I realized that it said percentage after I posted that. Duh! 😁
Still, for countries that import their beef, Bhutan and Nepal have very low percentages indentifying as vegetarians.
Why is North Korea not the answer?
I didn’t do too badly, but Caleb cleaned my clock as well his opponents’ timepieces. Final took me mere seconds to discern and I can’t believe the champ missed it. I knew the 2nd and 3rd DDs. Didn’t get the stumpers. Thought the Latin teacher would know the fear of words, though I didn’t. I did get the FJ from 2 years ago, though at the time I probably would not have. Somewhere in between I saw them on Colbert.
How could Bhutan not be the right answer?
idk why the judges didn’t give “expunge” to Lea on that $1600 Same Vowel clue. Merriam-Webster lists expunge under the synonyms.
It asked for a 9-letter word. As so often happens, the contestant didn’t read it carefully. Like “hoe” last night for the 10-letter tool.
Oh, okay, sometime not reading the clue carefully happens to me, too.
btw, the link on the 2 years ago line goes to the recap of that game, and you can see what you said about FJ! at the time.
