Fellow Portlander Courtney came through again in a tough challenge. She’s really good.
There was a get-together this afternoon for former contestants, including VVV from the ToC Finals, but I didn’t go.

Shame on me for not knowing “Brave New World.” I read it in college, but to be honest, that was in 1968.

As for the Iowa DD, Ottumwa is perhaps best-known for being Radar O’Reilly’s hometown on M*A*S*H. If you knew it was in Iowa and that the capital is Des Moines, then you didn’t have to know anything about a river.

  2. Lou says:

Courtney made a great comeback today after that strategic bet by S.A. also I don’t believe that daily double on the midwest was that tough. Although I never have been to iowa I would love to visit that place especially des moines. By the way VJ, do you know if Steppenwolf is science fiction related?

  3. JP says:

I am from Iowa originally, and Fort Dodge barely rang a bell. I didn’t even know there was a Des Moines river. Very tough.

  4. Darius Doom Scott! says:

Courtney! Become a 4x champ! Go for $79,800! And go for $103,601! And then go for $123,400!
