Gabriel Berkowitz looks familiar. He’s was on “Wheel of Fortune” by winning over $80,000 in cash and prizes. He got a trip and a car.
Terrific challengers. Poised, quick to ring in, not too many errors made during the game. I had a poor night (I blame it on the 10 pm airtime). Knew the 2nd DD and said Mother’s Day for Final. Didn’t know any of the stumpers.
I have a legit quibble with Gil’s FJ wager. Peter more or less had to wager $10001 to guard against Gil going all in. Gil, on tne other hand, was likely going to win only if Peter missed Final. She should have wagered $4701 to lock out Gabriel in case he went all in and they both got Final right. As it played out, she’d have won the game with $8299. Poor strategy that cost her dearly.
There’s a strange ending at the end of the first round. Gil’s score dropped $200 to $3,400 after the ruled miss and Gabriel’s score went from $4,800 to $5,000 after his response was ruled correct. After the break, Gil’s score was displayed as $3,800 and Gabriel’s score was displayed as $4,800 with no explanation from Ken about the score change. This is not the first time it happened. It happened on January 10, 2020 where one player was ruled incorrect and then the player’s score was displayed from 4,600 at the end of the first round and 4,800 at the beginning of next round with no explanation. And that was the case today with no explanation from Ken about the score change.
It’s possible tbe scoreboard operator erred and they made the adjustment during the break. Also, I thought they might overturn Gil’s answer of “Ducks” but I guess they didn’t because they wanted the team’s original name based on the Disney movie.
Peter must have been kicking himself for betting so low on the DDs. He didn’t look too happy even though he won. He was lucky he kept the DDs away from the others today but it may be his undoing yet!
Yeah, he crows that “Geography is my thing” then wagers $1600. At that point I thought he’d go all in.
