Padma Lakshmi is a TV host, actress and author, among other endeavors. She was born Padma Parvati Lakshmi Vaidynathan in Madras (aka Chennai), India in 1970. Her first name, Padma, means “lotus” in Hindu. Parvati and Lakshmi are major goddesses of Hinduism, and the clue is apparently implying that these names destined Padma for good fortune. When she was married to author Salman Rushdie from 2004-2008, she was known as Padma Lakshmi Rushdie. Padma is perhaps best known as the host and executive producer of the Emmy-winning Bravo series “Top Chef.” More on Padma Lakshmi’s IMDB trivia page.

Matt got it right. He bet it all and doubled his score to $800.

Carolyn got it, too. She didn’t bet a rupee, standing pat on $5,000.

Adam had no response. He lost his $5,000 bet but won the game with the remaining $15,000. Adam’s 4-day total is $72,601. Adam Remsen is a force to be reckoned with, Daily Doubles notwithstanding!
