WHAT IS “OUTLANDER”?

On her website, author Diana Gabaldon delves into the birth of her Outlander” series, which she calls “Big, Fat, Historical Fiction, à la James Clavell and James Michener” that includes “history, warfare, medicine, sex, violence, spirituality, honor, betrayal, vengeance,…time travel” and a lot more. “Outlander” heroine Claire Beauchamp (aka Randall, Fraser and Grey) is a 1940s nurse who travels back to 1740s Scotland, so check off medicine and time travel (the Moebius twist) for starters. 😁

Now up to 9 titles, Gabaldon says that each novel “can be read independently of each other.” I don’t know whether that is true of the STARZ TV series, now up to 6 seasons.

Megan thought it was “Wolf Hall”. She lost her $6,199 bet and finished with $5,601.

Sarah went with “Interview with a Vampire”. That cost her $10,000. She had $3,400 left.

Steve was going for Abraham Lincoln but only got as far as “Lin”. Finished or not, that was a $10,601 loss. Steve landed in second place with $5,599 and, for the second time, Megan emerged the winner by a margin of $2.00. Amazing! Her 3-day total is $34,402.

My wife, who is usually disinterested in J!, got this FJ easily. Me, not so much (i.e., at all).

I did chuckle at Sarah giving the same, incorrect response twice in a row!

  2. Rick says:

Another tough FJ to be sure, and I couldn’t even wager a guess.

  3. Ismael Gomez says:

That was a tough final as we got a triple stumper.

I will have to add the outlander book to my bucket list later. Good players today and a good game by everyone.

VJ, Thank you for reinforcing what Mayim Bialik said at the end of today’s game that Megan won for the 2nd time by $2. Two must be her lucky number. 🤔 We’ll see what tomorrow brings. Fascinating. Also, glad I wasn’t the only one who had no idea on today’s fj. Way out of my wheelhouse. Yikes.
