AstronomyTrek.com says that the constellation Pisces “is most commonly associated with Aphrodite (Venus) and her son Eros (Cupid), who transformed themselves into fish in order to escape the terrifying giant Typhon…. and the story goes that before turning themselves into fish, they tied each other to a piece of rope at each end so they would not lose one another in the turbulence of the water.” In the list of stars in Pisces, it says that Alrescha is the 3rd brightest and its name derives from the Arabic for “the well rope.”

Thanks for thinking of me, VJ. I was quite appalled!!
But it was kinda cool how they had the fairy tales clue on the same day I had that fairy tale morals quiz, right?
That’s right, I forgot about that! It is amazing how often that happens!
Well I’m not surprised by the wrong answers for today’s final. However this should have been easy as Libra is the scales of justice. If they only had gone a few more light years away, it would mean a triple get. Also VJ are you surprised by diana’s bet? I think she could have Arthur chu’s playing style. I wonder if Alan Lin is watching this as well since he also missed his FJ in the second game but won.
How often did Alan Lin bounce all over the board before the Tournament of Champions?
A week of extremes. As I said in CotD I would not be surprised by a triple whiff, but I was counting on at least one player to get it right.
And what in blazes did Diana think when she made her FJ bet? First she got not only lucky to get all 3 DDs and and even more lucky that they were easy (Boer Wars, Captain Nemo>Jules Verne>Nautilus, the word “Indigo” has been around for about 800 years and is a visible color in a rainbow). She made a double error. Even if she had bet 8 K she would have risked a tie. 7.999 was the max. for her. Memories of a certain “Cheers” episode….JSMH!
Diana risked her lock game, but it wouldn’t mattered as Katherine even if right and Diana wrong still wouldn’t have caught Diana, Katherine wagered to guarantee second place on a correct response. But an actuary risked a lock game on his fifth game in 1989,. Bob Blake.
@aaaa
Yeah, but had Katherine bet it all and been right then Diane would have lost by exactly 1 K bucks. D. did not even save the 1 dollar, never mind the 1K mistake. D. really lucked out 3 times in this game. All 3 DDs, easy ones to boot and then Katherine being wrong AND not wagering everything. But to speculate that somebody would risk to lose a runaway game is so far fetched…as you said, almost 30 years ago by Bob and on “Cheers” by Cliff…. If you watch(ed) J long enough, the strangest scenarios show up eventually.
