WHAT IS “IN THE BEGINNING WAS THE WORD”?

The first verse of the Gospel of John continues “and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” Verse 14, “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us,” is another famous line from that chapter (and a part of the Catholic prayer “The Angelus”). The Gospel of Matthew begins: “The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham,” and proceeds to tell who begat whom from Abraham to Mary.

Mark opens with “The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God” and then goes into John the Baptist’s story. Luke’s first sentence consists of 4 verses. He tells how the visits of the angel Gabriel to Mary’s brother-in-law Zacharias and to Mary foretold the births of John the Baptist and Jesus.

Brad bet it all and finished with 10,400.

James bet it all and finished with 33,200.

Ken bet 11,800 and finished with 45,000.

Those scores will be added to the totals in the next game to determine the winner of this 2-part match.

A good start to the players but brad needs to catch up to Ken and James. The daily doubles won’t always work in his favor if he bets it all. Furthermore if you remember back in the all star tournament, team brad had dominated throughout the game. Have his skills diminished a little?
