Missed the show again, but from what I’ve read here, didn’t miss much. Nailed all 3 DDs and knew Final right away. Several of those stumpers were highly gettable: the margarine; “Fame” actress; Beantown orchestra (come on); Texas lottery governor; small fish governor; hygiene item; Stein quote; Cuban character; dead Chilean; Russian peasants (again, come on!). That’s $10K just among the stumpers. I almost never say this, but I think I could’ve beat this crew, although I didn’t see all the other clues. Knew the Almaty country but couldn’t think of the old capital quickly enough.
I was 1/3 on DD, but got FJ. Got about 40% of TS.
Sam seemed a little quick on the buzzer. At least it’s a try.
Well, here we go again. It was another clear runaway for Ben as he absolutely trounced the challengers. As for me, (Yes, I did indeed get some of the DDs), I performed above average in the game. But seriously, the ‘Titanic’ for FJ? Well, that ship must have had nine lives then. However, I can’t be too hypocritical as my response was even worse. I mean, I came up with the Queen Mary for FJ although I knew that the ship was built in the early 20th century, and is still berthed in Long Beach, California.
Ben knows so many things, I’m actually astonished when I know some of the things he didn’t ring in on: Russian peasants, the lit stumpers, Disney movie, southern guv, TX guv, synonyms.
On the other hand, I wouldn’t have been too astonished if any of them figured out what the Bucky Beaver product. I thought it was gettable even for young’uns 🤣
Just by luck: I got the capital city that took over for Almaty because I happened to come across that tidbit very recently.
