WHAT IS “LIFE” (or THE GAME OF LIFE)?
From the NY Times: “Reuben Klamer, an inventor who dreamed up the Game of Life and many other toys and games that entertained young baby boomers in the pre-internet 1950s and ’60s as well as their children in the ’80s and ’90s, died on Sept. 14 at his home in the La Jolla neighborhood of San Diego. He was 99.”
The obituary goes on to quote Mr. Klamer’s memoir: “Something about the word ‘life’ electrified me. It is one of a very few things that every single person experiences, so the market, to put it simply, was literally everyone on earth!”
Camron thought it was Trivial Pursuit. He lost $2,199 bet and finished with $1.00.
Kathleen got it right. Her $5,001 bet brought her up to $21,001.
Mattea got it, too. She bet $14,001 and won the game with $32,001. Mattea Roach is the new Jeopardy! champ.

This is the second consecutive game that the defending champion did well on the first game then the second game got crashed and burned and that was certainly the case today with Camron. The DJ! round has certainly belong to Kathleen and Mattea and they went neck and neck.
My brothers have played the game of life ever since they were little. There was also a computer game of life made by Hasbro. A good final jeopardy clue today and congrats to Mattea on winning and to Kathleen getting final. There was a trivial pursuit final not too long ago which came up on Jeopardy that everyone got.
@rhonda and @Jacob did you guys play game of life before?
Lou, I never played the Board game Life nor did my children. We liked Monopoly, Scrabble, Chess,Trivial Pursuit, etc.
I played it once or twice, but I didn’t own the game.
Same here, but I did come up with the right answer.
Mattea was quite smart and chatty. Let’s see if she can avoid the recent “sophomore slump” Nell and Camron suffered.
Kathleen and Mattea were on a breakneck speed. Good on Mattea, but, the chatter is, to me, extraneous and annoying. In my mind, you get one – either “that’s my home province” OR “I should have bet more”. Not both.
And, there are just some things you know for J. It’s like, “Scottish poet”, that’s Robert Burns. “Mobiles” is only one person.
Nonetheless, I’m hoping Mattea can link a few together!
