Today’s Final Jeopardy question (3/29/2016) in the category “State Geography” was:

Of the 5 U.S. State capitals that begin with the letter “A”, the one that is farthest north.

New champ Erin Bowers won a hefty $30,001 yesterday. In her second game, she is up against these two players: Michelle Bulger Mabury, from Atlanta, GA; and Todd Giese, from New Orleans, LA.

Round 1 Categories: State Landmarks – Invertebrates – Clothes – I’m Retired – I Run a Little – “B” & “B”

Todd found the Jeopardy! round Daily Double in “Invertebrates” under the $800 clue on the 8th pick of the round. He was in a tie with Erin at $1,200. Michelle had not yet buzzed in. He made it a true Daily Double and he was RIGHT.

Not surprised all of the contestants got fj correct tonight. All of them are from the eastern half of the U. S. I remember when my dad used to drive us from New York up to Maine during the summers and eating fresh lobsters. Also, no one can forget Olympia Snowe who was born in Augusta, Maine.

Tough break on that last DD for Erin! I thought it would be in her wheelhouse since she’s a patent examiner. The first word that popped in my mind was NULL and then I blanked. Then I said “NULL AND” out loud and VOID came right out. If I was there, I would have been in trouble if I didn’t start with “What is” before I started talking out loud!

Like Erin, my brain went null and void. But I did call the “Allegory of Spring” TS 🙂

      Nice game.

Yes, it was nice how Michelle caught right up and took over the lead for a while there. The DDs changed it all!
