Only ONE of the contestants got Final Jeopardy! right.
A physical description of Poirot appears in “The Mysterious Affair at Styles” (1920): “Poirot was an extraordinary-looking little man. He was hardly more than five feet, four inches, but carried himself with great dignity. His head was exactly the shape of an egg, and he always perched it a little on one side. His moustache was very stiff and military. The neatness of his attire was almost incredible. I believe a speck of dust would have caused him more pain than a bullet wound.” That certainly explains why Agatha Christie added the words “little” and “tiresome” to her frustrated description of her Belgian detective.
Steve got it right He bet $8,799 bet and finished with $17,599.
Aurora thought it was Sherlock Holmes, who was very tall. She lost her $8,000 bet, finishing with $7,600.
Gwen came up with Sherlock, too. That cost her $15,401 and left her with $399.
The last clue read in each round was a triple stumper today:

Ohh, Aurora. Three correct DD’s and just 200 off the lead, and still….
Everything was out of sync in the game tonight—lips didn’t match words, words didn’t match images, contestants mouthed responses before Alex’s voice finished reading the clues—a total mess.
@Cece, I really enjoyed the game and so did Alex. Didn’t have the technical problems you had. Hate you had to go through something like that. It’s no fun.
Yeah, it was like watching a badly dubbed movie. It did look like a good game, but my brain got out of focus.
It’s amazing what contestants will say under “Light, Camera, Action! — Sherlock Holmes, a little creature?
Aww, that stinks. I liked the game too. I got that anagram clue about Esquire Magazine 🙂
Kinda difficult fj today.. If you’re not a fan or haven’t read enough of her novels..
1 or 2 might not get it…
Should’ve stuck with 1..
Meant 2 not getting it
Surprised only one got it. He was the first detective i thought of.
Agree. I thought they would all get it. Oh well, I got a chuckle out of Alex Trebek saying “I don’t think that Sir Arthur Conan Doyle would ever have referred to him as a little creature.” after the first Sherlock reveal
