WHAT IS THREE (3)?
Voting rights were granted to the District of Columbia in 1961 via the 23rd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution “allowing D.C. voters to choose electors for the Electoral College based on population, with a maximum of as many electors as the least populated state. With a current population of over 550,000 residents, 61-square-mile D.C. has three electoral votes, just like Wyoming, America’s smallest state, population-wise.” This occurred during John F. Kennedy’s presidency and D.C. residents were able to vote in the 1964 presidential election. More on History.com

Allison wrote down 4, after crossing out 2 really well. She lost her $8,100 bet and had $100 left.
Zach got it right. He bet $4,601 and that brought him up to $17,201.
Peter got it right, too. He bet a big $10,200 bet so he won the match with $27,400. Peter Karamitsos is the new Jeopardy! champ.

Amazing that a clue would pop up about Stephen Hawking the day after Cece gave us the news regarding his passing.
Yes, wow — this was the clue:
WHAT A HIGH-CLASS MISTAKE! ($800) Calling the 2005 paper “Information Loss in Black Holes” by this Cambridge Prof. “derivative”? Bad form
and the recent one that Cece referred to is in the triple stumpers in PRIME “TIME” in the 2/8/2018 game
Rest in peace, Mr. Hawking.
Yes, what are the odds of a clue about SH appearing tonight? Really amazing! And you know what else? He died on Einstein’s birthday (it was 3/14 in England already).
Aww, VJ, thanks for the link to that clue—I was too lazy to search, but remembered been very pleased with myself for getting it right. 🙂
Well, Zach did well so far but still the leader curse could go onto until we see another streaker. It’s been almost a month now but it’s unfortunate Zach didn’t hit any daily doubles today. What other states in the U.S. has a minimum of three electors aside from D.C., VJ?
@Lou, There are a bunch that have 3.
I wonder if they would accept “Holy Thursday” for “Maundy Thursday.”
LINK: 9 more clues from that match
I meant to reply to this earlier and got distracted: I’ve never heard the word “Maundy” before. I looked up and found out that it’s from the Latin word “mandatum”, which means “commandment”. It said that “Maundy Thursday” is a somewhat outdated term for “Holy Thursday”.
Thanks, Cece, I didn’t know that it was considered “somewhat outdated.” I actually belong to a church that calls it Maundy Thursday but, being raised Catholic, I still think Holy Thursday. You actually mentioned Jeudi saint when you gave us the French rules for Holy Week recently. 🙂
Seven states total…Alaska, Delaware, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Vermont and (wait, I’ll think of it!) Montana.
