WHAT IS LIBERIA?

Go Team Liberia has some interesting info about the Flag of Liberia, which is known as the Lone Star. August 24, 1847 is Flag Day in Liberia because that is the date the flag was adopted. The red, white and blue colors symbolize the 3 original counties: Grand Bassa, Montserrado and Sinoe.

The 11 stripes represent the signers of the Liberia’s Declararation of Independence. Red is for valor and bravery; white represents purity. The dark blue square (the canton) in the upper left corner represents fidelity and the continent of Africa. “A five-pointed star inside the blue background represents Liberia itself, the first independent country on the continent of Africa.”

Sabrina got it right. She bet $4,398 and finished with $8,798.

Laura went with Madagascar. Its flag colors are red, green and white. Laura stood pat on her $11,200.

Harvey crossed out Madagascar and Belgium and settled on France (red, white & blue w/no stars). He lost $13,200 and won the game with $23,600. Harvey Silikovitz is the new Jeopardy! champ.

  1. Kevin Cheng says:

Harvey put up a dominant performance in his impressive debut. 35 correct responses and a Coryat score of 31,200. I think that Harvey would like to match Laura’s performance and become an 8 game champion himself.
