WHAT IS BARBED WIRE?
Barbed wire appears in Chapter II of “Elements of Trench Warfare” in the “Obstacles” section where the other two advantages named are: “It is easily and quickly made” and “It offers no obstruction to the view and fire of the defense”. Of course, the main purpose for the use of barbed wire in trench warfare was to slow down the enemy advance. The main purpose for its use in the Old West was to keep cattle penned in. The low cost of barbed wire was a boon to ranchers but it was just the opposite to the cowboys who previously herded the cattle from place to place. Barbed wire fences eventually put the cowboys out of business. Learn more on the Collectors Weekly website.
Jesse bet $4,599 and finished with $9,199.
Tanya bet $1.00 and finished with $10,601.
Matthew bet $8,000 and won the game with $21,400. His 3-day total is $87,400.

($2000) This 10-letter type of below-market “property” is more than just a fixer-upper, it could be in foreclosure

Tanya was done in by her über-conservative wagering. And, what was even the deal with that FJ wager?
Concur on Final being an easy get.
Matthew reminds me of a member of Monty Python.
Tanya was a good player (and maybe could have won if she’d wagered more aggressively), but had that deer-in-the-headlights look the whole game.
Matthew was not his super-sharp self tonight. He and his competitors missed a number of clues that I thought were not so tough: the woman bishop (DD); TCB; the Paris banquet 2nd this; nuclear sub (I remembered that from grade school when it was new); the warm latitudes diseases; the president in 1899; and the Roxbury Homer.
I would not call FJ answer a gimme, but I did figure it out.
That TCB stumper was a real head scratcher!
Gee, I don’t mind the tough FJs, but surely they can come up with something better than these dead giveaways.
