Bif found the Jeopardy! round Daily Double in “Measure for Measure” under the $400 clue on the 10th pick of the round. He was in second place with $800, $2,200 less than Will’s lead. He bet the $1,000 allowance and he was RIGHT, and he ran the whole category.

The area of Germany that borders the North Sea lies between its land borders with the Netherlands and Denmark. The UK is separated from these countries (also Belgium and Norway) by the North Sea on the east. Germany borders the Baltic Sea in between Denmark and Poland, and north of that on the Baltic is Sweden. You can take a ferry from Germany to Sweden.
How Swedish schoolchildren see the area on a map: Sverige is Sweden, Östersjön is the Baltic Sea and Tyskland is Germany.
Will wrote down Poland. He bet and lost it all.
Bryan had Estonia. He lost $13,500, leaving him with $500.

Since Germany has a maritime boundary with the UK, why doesn’t Germany have a maritime boundary with Lithuania, which is across the Baltic?
idk, Albert, but maybe this list of land and/or maritime borders of all countries on wikipedia will help you figure it out.
According to that, in addition to the 2 maritime “only” borders mentioned in the clue, Germany has land and maritime borders with Denmark, The Netherlands and Poland
I had high hopes for Will to win 5 games. Oh well. We haven’t had a 5-time champion since October. Someone put a curse on the set so 6 consecutive 4-time champs lose their fifth game/win.

Looks like will has lost his chance to be the next streaker. But congratulations to Bif. John you mentioned that it was going to be a tough game and you were right about Bif being a mathematician and all that The game was in his favor today. Will is already out of the toc contention.

Well, from what I understand, it’s going to be a unique format this time around. Here’s what Jeopardy! said about it on Facebook:
Every team player competes in one round of each game: Jeopardy!, Double Jeopardy! or Final Jeopardy! We’ll post the full tournament details in the next couple weeks – stay tuned!
So just taking a hypothetical example with 2 teams: Buzzy will play one round, Alex Jacob will play another, and Jennifer Giles another. If they’re playing against Julia’s team, that would be Julia herself, Ben Ingram and Seth Wilson.
As for today’s game, I thought Will was getting a little frantic towards the end, trying to get the lead and cost himself some bucks on a couple of clues. It’s true that Bif got a category right up his alley but so did Will with Movie Quotes (he got 4 of the 5 clues).

Still wiping the egg from my face, overlooked the word “only” in the clue. While Germany has 9 land borders and 2 maritime ONLY borders (U.K. and Sweden), it has land AND maritime borders with 2 countries: Denmark and The Netherlands. I stand embarrassed.
So much for another 5 time champ, but CONGRATULATIONS to Bif!! Kind of funny that as a mathematician he would get the DD in “Measure for Measure” !!
@VJ, To answer your question re the All Star Game: I am not really that excited. For whatever reason it feels like a stew warmed up for the fifth time, just my feeling. I know almost everybody will disagree with me, but I say it the way I think about it. I feel the same way about the “All Star Games” in sports. Baseball, football, basketball…
