Ankit got it right. He bet nothing and stuck with his $1,800.

Katie came up with a see. That cost her $3,201 and left her with $7,999.

Mike went with principality. He lost his $10,000 bet and finished with $2,800. That made Katie Sekelsky the new Jeopardy! champion.

    TWO san francisco giants questions??

    i’m here for that.

  2. Albert says:

I wish I studied French, Spanish, and/or Latin in school. I had 4 years of German and that NEVER did me a bit of good in life. Latin would help with Jeopardy. Spanish would help with getting jobs. French would help with Jeopardy.

  3. Lou says:

That daily double on french was also easy for me as I have been studying french for about a year during the pandemic. A gauche and adroit were not that hard for me to recognize. Too bad ankit couldn’t keep up with the opponents today but I am happy he got final right. VJ since you have been brushing up on french, did you know enclave is actually an italian word? It’s the reason why I am interested in learning that romantic language with french combined.

    • VJ says:

yes, Lou, it is spelled the same in French, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese as in English, although pronounced with 2 syllables in English and 3 in the other languages

  4. Ann Grove says:

Agree with Barbara. Very unhappy about the tennis being on instead of Jeopardy. Absolutely no warning.

  5. Barbara Kennelly says:

Why was jeopardy preempted for Tennis with NO warning. The least they could have done was to give us the courtesy of advance notice.

    • VJ says:

I don’t know, Barbara. I’m assuming that’s your local station’s doing and totally agree that they could have given advance notice. Maybe they did on Facebook or Twitter, though, I don’t know.

    • rhonda says:

Barbara, perhaps you will be able to see last night’s Jeopardy tonight? We were preempted twice recently for silliness and they showed the episode on Saturday night at the usual weekday time.

  6. VJ says:

This morning, I went the French route to get this one. I thought what is the French word for key? Clé (pr clay), then I knew it. That’s why I thought it was so easy. ha ha ha

    • JP says:

My having been learning French the last 3 years definitely made the last daily double easy.

    • rhonda says:

      Moi aussi, VJ.

    • Howard says:

I studied French for 10 years and knew only “clef” as the word for key. But I looked it up in my Larousse, and “cle'” is also valid. (Neither of which enabled me to guess the final.) Many contestants have at least a rudimentary knowledge of French and Spanish. Had Ankit known “droit” means “right,” he probably ends up winning the game. And no one seemed to know that “facile” is French for “easy” and is also used as an English word.
