Max finished in the lead with $3,400. Christine was second with $3,100 and Theresa was last with $600. All clues were shown.

Christine found the first Daily Double in “Before She Was First Lady” under the $800 clue on the 9th pick of the round. She was in the lead with $8,300, $4,100 more than Max in second place. Christine bet $2,000 and said Betty Ford. That was WRONG.
She appeared on Broadway in “Lute Song” with Yul Brynner & Mary Martin show
3 clues later, Max got the last Daily Double in “That Invention is Electric” under the $1,200 clue. He was in second place with $5,400 now, $900 less than Christine’s lead. Max bet $4,000 and he was RIGHT.

WHAT ARE THE HUGO AWARDS?
Per the Hugo Awards website, both “The War of the Worlds” and “The Sword and the Stone” were among the winners of Retro-Hugo Awards when they were presented at Loncon 3 in London on 8/14/2014. “The Sword in the Stone” by T. H. White won in the Best Novel category. The Mercury Theater presentation of “The War of the Worlds” directed by Orson Welles won for Best Dramatic Presentation, Short Form.

Terry got it right. She bet $7,399 and that brought her up to $14,799.
Christine got it right, too. She bet $3,501 and finished with $15,001.
Max came up with the Webbys. He lost $8,001 and finished with $6,999. That made Christine Whelchel the winner for the third time. Her 3-day total is $59,601.

I have to disagree with Howard. I felt it was another uninspired game.

Despite the missed DDs and a large number of stumpers, this was a good game with decent players.
I got the Final but really thought the Hugo belonged to another literary genre.
Was hoping one of them would know Lou Henry’s husband. He also had a geology degree, the city where U of Iowa is, or which president died in 1836, but those were kind of tricky.
I hope William Weyser would say darn those daily doubles again.
Oh man i would have loved to see max win this one if he didnt go for the webby Awards. If he had made a lock on this game that would have made it a lot easier.
