  1. Rick says:

Regarding the final question, I wouldn’t have described the Barbary Coast as being situated exclusively in “western North Africa” as was suggested.

  2. Jason says:

So far, after 2 shows, it seems to me that these folks are a notch beneath regular season contestants. Also, this was, possibly, the most boring game I’ve seen in years. There seemed to be a palpable fear of aggressive DD betting, but, then, there was that “Oh, that’s easy” recognition of a clue, but, I couldn’t tell if they realized they should have bet more. And, I have to be honest – it was “hosting Jeopardy! Ken Jennings”, but this was announced “the host of Jeopardy! Mayim Bialik”. I haven’t missed an episode in years, but, she might make me.

  3. Richard Corliss says:

I thought Marti was supposed to select first in the first round.

  4. Richard Corliss says:

    Semifinalists:
    Gary Hollis: $20,000
    Mari Canipe: $13,400

    Wild Cards:
    Katie Reed: $12,000 ($14,000)
    Hester Blum: $12,000 ($8,600)
    John Harkless: $4,000
    Gautam Hans: $1

  5. Lou says:

Well Katie was close since the Bonboro is an endangered species. Not sure how many of those monkeys are still alive. At least now we have another wildcard winner so hopefully Katie will improve her skills when she reaches the semi finals. Speaking of the barbary ape, the wildlife trivia had a question on this animal as well which I find very interesting, Never heard of the menshiviks before.

    • Jason says:

The Mensheviks were the “White Army”. Recall the “Soviet Red Army” athletes, like, the hockey teams? That’s the “red” of the movie “Reds”, and who were opposed by the “Whites”.

    • Howard says:

No one has clinched a wild card spot yet.

  6. Kevin Cheng says:

There’s one thing missing, we don’t see the scores at the end of the first round.

    • VJ says:

Thanks, Kevin. It’s in there now.

My son recommended that Starz wrestling TV series to me. The whole first season is on there so I got a month’s subscription to Starz and watched the whole thing. I hope they have a Season 2.
