“Jeopardy” didn’t come on till 10 Friday night because of football. I spaced out and didn’t catch on till the halfway point. Poor Brooke had that “deer in the headlights” look the whole time I watched.

Amy blitzed them, especially in the latter stages, and rang in on almost every clue. She really is an exceptional player. Most of the all-time greats were in their 30s, so she stands out in that regard.

In hindsight, FJ wasn’t that tough, but it stumped me. My only glory was knowing the two high-dollar Quaid clues and Prince William’s dukedom.

    • VJ says:

I’ve noticed that blitz thing in several of Amy’s games. It reminds me of Matt Jackson — he’d let the challengers get a bunch of clues in the first round and clobber them in the second.

It also seems like the majority of Amy’s challengers fold after she gets a $5K lead.

  2. Richard Corliss says:

Thank goodness the Dennis Quaid movie role wasn’t the same as the football category back in 2/2/18.

    • VJ says:

I was thinking they would have had a clue from the 1980s film when Dennis played Jerry Lee Lewis but they didn’t. I was already curious to see if they knew that one because I was remembering a triple stumper from last July when they had a clue asking for Jerry Lee’s nickname and it was a triple stumper (The legendary Jerry Lee Lewis has this lethal nickname). The name of the movie was the same as Jerry Lee’s most famous song

      • Albert says:

The younger generation doesnt know jerry lee lewis. I know him because i am 54.

In 25 years it will be hard to find a radio station or radio program that plays the oldies from the 1950s.

        • VJ says:

You could be right about that, Albert, but I think that they will still put lots of ’50s songs in cartoons, TV shows and movies, like Purple People Eater, Yakety-Yak, Tutti Frutti, Hound Dog, etc. They’ll also have reissues and new artists who will cover them (and make kids think they’re new)

  3. Louis Jin says:

Well congrats to Amy on winning game 13 today and getting 500K in winnings. I hope she enjoys the two week break for the professors tournament.

  4. Kevin says:

    Amy’s is #1

  5. Kevin Cheng says:

So that means that Amy gets to relax for the next two weeks because starting on Monday, Jeopardy will have its first ever Professor’s Tournament.

    • klm says:

it doesn’t mean that. no outsider knows the taping schedule. they may have taped the tournament before they taped amy’s games. it’s like when in december sometimes they have a string of christmas categories, but the games may have been taped in august. still, the host mentions the christmas connection and the players play along.

      • Howard says:

Exactly. Plus it appears Mayim is hosting this tournament, and her run ended on Nov 5.
So it’s possible she taped this upcoming series back when those regular episodes were taped.
