TWO of the contestants got Final Jeopardy! right.

WHO IS GEORGE ARMSTRONG CUSTER?

Mark Kellogg was born in Ontario, Canada in 1831 to American parents. His family moved back and forth between the States and Canada before settling in LaCrosse, WI in 1851. By the 1870s, Kellogg was working in Bismarck, Dakota Territory as a reporter with editor Clement Lounsberry at the Bismarck Tribune. It was actually Lounsberry who was supposed to accompany Custer to Little Bighorn and send first-hand reports back to Bismarck. In one of those weird twists of fate, Kellogg went and died with Custer and many members of the 7th Cavalry between June 25 and June 26, 1876. He was 45 years old.

Parts of Kellogg’s diary survived and have been transcribed online as part of the North Dakota State Historical Society’s contributions to Digital Horizons.org.

Jessica had no response. She lost her $1,900 bet and finished with $1,100.

Sinnott got it right. He added $4,000 to his score and finished with $8,800.

Amy also got it. A bold $25,000 bet brought Amy’s win up to $61,800, her biggest payday yet. Amy’s 12-day total is $483,000.

Omit Bismarck and 1876, and the Final isn’t such a dead giveaway.
Had a feeling Amy would go big on her final wager. Playing with house money, so to speak.
    Now averaging $40K a show.

I love to see those big bets pay off!

6K is a big payout for Amy today as she is closer to 500K. She is unstoppable now and could be our next megachamp if she keeps winning like this. Glad the daily doubles helped her today . The clue reminded me of the Battle of Big Horn and Custer’s Last Stand which is a little history I picked up in grade school. If I remember correctly James also broke records in his original run as well but I wonder if Jason Zufferaneri did the same as well?
