Jackie found the Jeopardy! round Daily Double in “Sports Brand Name Meaning” under the $400 clue on the 15th pick of the round. She was in the lead with $3,000, $1,400 more than Josh in second place. She made it a true Daily Double and said “not Polo.” That was certainly true but as for getting the DD, it was WRONG.

ALL of the contestants got Final Jeopardy! right.

WHO IS LOKI?

Odin’s eight-legged horse was Sleipnir (“The Sliding One”), whose father was Svadilfari. Loki was his mother. Norse Mythology.com tells how that came about: “Sleipnir was born when the god Loki shape-shifted into a mare and became pregnant by the stallion of a giant, as is recounted in the tale of The Fortification of Asgard.”

He had other kids, too: NORSE MYTHOLOGY ($1000): This mischief-maker has several evil offspring, including Jormungandr, a giant serpent

Alex wrote down Thor but crossed it out for Loki. She didn’t bet anything and remained at $2,800.

Josh bet $8,000 and finished with $17,000.

Jackie bet $9,889 and won the game with $19,889. Her 2-day total is $34,089.

I had no idea Loki is like Caitlyn (Bruce) Jenner. I just gained more respect for the liberalism of the Norse culture.

Jackie Fuchs is Jackie Fox of the 1970s girl group the RUnaways, where she played alongside Lita Ford and Joan Jett when they were teenagers. She said on Facebook she’ll divulge that fact on her third day if she were to get there, and she will tomorrow.

Very tough clues in both rounds but easy on the FJ! saw an end to a string of championship curses and she has now won almost $34,000. Another thing happened is the fact that we are still in a hangover after we got the 4th Miss Universe crown. No live voting this year, though, so only comes down to the judges, and I think we will do it again.

But most of all, congratulations to Catriona Gray, 24, Miss Universe 2018 from the PHILIPPINES!

Congratulations to all the contestants getting final right. Thor reminded me of the Marvel Comics known as the Avengers since he is the sort of guy with comedy relief. VJ and John if you guys remember the previous avenger movie with Thanos, he eliminated Loki. It was quite a sad scene.

Alex didn’t get much of a chance.today since Jackie and Josh were too quick. But that not polo response was pretty funny in the first round

    • VJ says:

I agree, Lou. You could see that Alex knew a lot of the clues but just couldn’t beat the others on the buzzer. I really wish they would finish the board. Those last 4 clues in Double Jeopardy! today could have made a dramatic change in the scores, not for Alex, but Josh might have finished in the lead. Jackie may have had more money to bet if she knew them and got in there first.

The three “t” word for Honeywell is “thermostat,” not “thermometer,” VJ. (Wink, wink)

What do you know? Something happened after all today: The one day jinx was broken, so congratulations to Jackie. With her average winnings she will have to win at least 4 games however to have a shot at the ToC.
We “predictors” however struck out completely. Another week of extremes maybe? Zero and/or Three ??

    • John Christian Ambion says:

And another thing happened after all, Catriona Gray is OFFICIALLY the 4th Filipina Miss Universe, beating delegates from 93 countries.
