Wow, those two all-in DD wagers were Holzhaueresque. I was pretty sure FJ was Prague, as I remembered the anti-communist demonstrations that year. That gave me a perfect 0 for 4 counting the DDs. I thought the champ would go big on FJ since he had so much distance. It worked out well, but how many times in life do you get a chance to win big bucks on one trivia clue?

Never saw the show, but figured out the unknown stuntman. Censorious phrase wasn’t too hard.

  2. VJ says:

I bet that one clue in the Cohab category wouldn’t have been a stunper if they tied it to a line about a safety pin in the Cleveland Rocks theme song

Wow, Mehal led with such a huge runaway that he couldn’t possibly lose unless he bet the store in FJ. I did well in the Math/Science category as it was obviously a no brainer, but I performed somewhat below average in the game. As for FJ, I had to resort to taking a wild guess, and went with Oxford.

  4. Travis says:

I guessed Tehran on the final, I was thinking of the hostage crisis but that really made no sense. That was pretty tough imo.

  5. VJ says:

I’m happy for Mehal that his last 2 DDs paid off. Nice going! That brings his average up to $23K+

I hope his luck holds out if he decides to go for the gusto tomorrow.

  6. Kevin Cheng says:

Mehal shocked the audience by making both true daily doubles in the Double Jeopardy round and got them both correct making it really tough for the challengers. 37,600 is the highest score going into Final and 36,263 is the highest payout of the season.
