WHAT IS “BOND, JAMES BOND”?

In 2019, Screenrant rated 15 quotes the most iconic lines from James Bond movies. “Bond, James Bond” is No. 15 over there. There was a lot more competition for a spot on AFI’s 2005 list of 100 Greatest Movie Quotes of All Time. Two of Screenrant’s choices made the cut: “Bond, James Bond” is No. 22. (They credit “Dr. No” (1963) for the film, although the film was first released in 1962 in London.) “A martini. Shaken, not stirred” from “Goldfinger” (1964) is No. 90.

That was a fun final, especially for those of us who saw the old Bond films when they were new.

Like the best champions, Andrew spanked them down the stretch, which turned out to be critical for his victory.

I briefly thought “Gutenburg Bible” but quickly realized that was too obvious, and it had to be “95 Theses.” “Archbishop” in the clue was helpful.

Figured that last DD had to be Rijksmuseum. I was there (and at Schiphol) 50 years ago, but had no recollection of them being near each other.

Oh yes there was one other question I wanted to ask of you VJ. Do you recall if there was ever a final jeopardy question about a french fashion designer called Christian Lacroix? You know the guy that did dresses for hollywood actresses and he also designed Christina Aguilerra’s wedding dress one time. Not sure if the name sounded familiar to you but this was something I wanted to ask.

Would King Arthur’s Court have been accepted in the Final yesterday?

Would “Martin Luther’s Theses” have been acceptable?

Anyone here who watches Sean Connery or pierce brosnan as James bond will know this final. As a fan of James bond films like Tomorrow Never Dies, Goldeneye, Dr. no, and Skyfall, I found these to be entertaining and fun. Despite the daily double fails I think Andrew will definitely be a super champ.

Runaways are tiresome. Michael was going strong and showing promise until that missed DD threw him off for a few questions. And that was enough for Andrew to get his second wind. And leave viewers bored going into FJ.

  7. Ismael Gomez says:

It is unfortunate that none of the contestants nailed any of the daily doubles today resulting our fourth skunking. I am sure William Weyser would say darn those daily doubles.

    • William Weyser says:

I did say that, but on the plus side, Andrew He did win well over $150,000 in 5 games, like Ken Jennings, Roger Craig, and the last 2 TOC Winners: James Holzhauer & Sam Kavanaugh did.

  8. Richard Corliss says:
