Aaron found the Jeopardy! round Daily Double in “Hmmm, I Wonder” under the $800 clue on the 4th pick of the round. Nobody had any money. Aaron bet $1,000 and he was RIGHT.
Appropriately, Champ is the name of this lake’s version of Nessie, the Loch Ness Monster show
Aaron finished in the lead with $7,600. Hari was in second place with $4,800. Katie was last with $0. All clues were shown.
Round 2 Categories: The Topic of Capricorns – The World Series – Frank Gehry – Night at the Museum – Monster Manual – Words in Halloween
Hari found the first Daily Double in “Night at the Museum” under the $1,600 clue on the 3rd pick of the round. He was in the lead with $7,600, $1,600 more than Aaron in second place. Hari made it a true Daily Double and guessed Dali. That was WRONG.
He painted “Night Fishing at Antibes” just before the outbreak of World War II show
Hari got the last Daily Double in “Monster Manual” under the $2,000 clue on the 13th pick of the round. He was in second place with $6,400, $2,800 less than Aaron’s lead. Hari bet $4,000 and he was RIGHT.
In “The Once and Future King” this beast is described as “falco leonis serpentis” show
Hari finished in the lead with $17,200. Aaron was second with $14,000 and Katie was last with $3,600. All clues were shown.
NONE of the contestants got Final Jeopardy! right.
WHAT IS ARCHIE?
The British line of succession currently starts with Prince William. He has 3 children, born in this order: George, Charlotte and Louie. Prince Harry, William’s brother, is fifth in line. Harry has 2 children, born in this order: Archie and Lilibet. Of course, the order will change if Prince William and his wife, Kate, have more kids. As you can see, once King Charles had children, they preceded his brother Andrew in the line of succession. Likewise, when William’s kids grow up and marry, their children will precede Prince Harry. Then, there’s also the possibility that the monarchy will be abolished before it gets to that point.
The 1941 character with the same name is Archie Andrews, the red-headed loverboy of Riverdale High School. Archie was the inspiration for “The Archies.” The fictional pop group was part of the animated series “The Archie Show” and had a huge hit with the bubblegum pop song “”Sugar, Sugar”. More recently, the TV series “Riverdale” drew its characters from the “Archie” comics.
Katie got as far as “Beat” when she ran out of time. She bet and lost the whole $3,600.
Aaron thought it was Charlotte, who is actually 3rd in line. He lost $3,202 and finished with $10,798.
Hari came up with James. That cost him $11,000 and left him with $6,200. That made Aaron Craig the winner and latest semi-finalist.

Got the first two DD, but said chimera for the 3rd. Got FJ, but that was on instinct. Don’t know why I knew it, but I did. Then, the literary part (if you can call Archie comics “literature”) just fit.
Interesting that Aaron wagered that Hari would be wrong, while Hari wagered that Aaron would be correct. Aaron showed his baseball chops, that’s for sure.
And, Ken botched it, I think. Didn’t he say Charlotte came later in the list?
And, with the first 3 clues being triple stumpers, I was thinking that that did not portend well. Fortunately, that did not come to pass.
Jason, the last time that “falco leonis serpentis” was a Daily Double, the contestant got it wrong with chimera so don’t feel bad!
Ouch, I came up with Charlotte during the musical interlude and figured it tied in with Charlotte’s Web. Unless you knew the 6th in line, that was one tough FJ.
Nice comeback by Hari. I’d have guessed Picasso for that DD he missed.
After Katie answered “mandrill” for the 5-letter monkey, she was out of the running till some late answers got her on the board.

VJ, I’m confused by your sentence under “What is Archie?” It states, “As you can see, once King Charles had children, they preceded Harry in the line of succession.” Do you mean Prince William? It appears that is the direction in which your write-up was going.
Royalty is not my thing, but I’m guessing that William and Harry were first and second in line, but once William’s kids were born, they bypassed Harry in the line of succession. I assume that the reigning monarch’s first-born becomes next in line.
Thanks, Jacob, for pointing that out. I actually meant Charles’ bro, Andrew. Before William came along, Andrew was next in line after Charles, then his daughters, Beatrice and Eugenie.
You’re welcome. Personally, I prefer to free up space in my brain for more important facts than who succeeds whom in British royalty. Didn’t our country free itself from the British in 1776? No disrespect intended but their royalty is not our royalty.
True, Jacob, but every time an American marries into or otherwise gets involved with royalty, the American press goes overboard with it!
VJ, I agree the American press, and the press in general, goes overboard when it comes to royalty. Poor Princess Diana wasn’t even American and she got coverage which I felt was excessive before her tragic death. I have stopped trying to figure out the media a long time ago.
