TWO of the contestants got Final Jeopardy! right.

WHO IS GRIMACE?

Grimace, McDonald’s purple mascot, celebrated his 52nd birthday on June 12, 2023. After McDonald’s announced it would honor Grimace with a purple milkshake, there was a “McFlurry” of articles about Grimace, who apparently only showed up once in a while after 2003. Today.com learned from McDonald’s that “Grimace is from Grimace Island and comes from a huge family (including his Grandma Winky, aunts Millie and Tillie and his Uncle O’Grimacey!)” Grimace’s uncle served as mascot for the Shamrock Shake at one time. Like the Hamburgler, Grimace was originally a thief, only he stole milkshakes. His raison d’etre was changed to a milkshake-loving friend of Ronald McDonald to make him more child-friendly.

Here a link to the 2014 tweet where McDonald’s says Grimace is the embodiment of a milkshake or a tastebud and gets reminded about Grimace’s checkered past. 🤣🤣🤣

Caryn got it right. She bet $3,000 and finished with $7,600.

Jack went with Sonic. That cost him $14,599 and left him with a dollar.

Eamonn also got it right. He bet $14,700 and won the game with $29,500. Eamonn’s 2-day total is $43,200.

LFGM Glad this game up during a Mets playoff game.

Good players, competitive game, but Holy Tara, no one recognized the O’Hara/Wilkes characters or their creator? I guess I’ll worry about that tomorrow.

Kudos to the two who got FJ, I had no idea. Jack could have wagered $201 and it would have guaranteed him no worse than 2nd place, and a win if Eamonn bet big and missed FJ. Tough stumpers, other than the “wild” grain; what else could it have been?

I missed part of Jeopardy due to a few interruptions, and then went for Elsie the Cow in FJ. Anyways, it was another great game!
