Round 2 Categories: Medieval Times – Musical Theater – Nature – Colorful Groups – Philosophy – 4-Letter Before & After

Brian finished in the lead with $20,200. Elliott was next with $14,200 and Madeline was in third place with $9,400. No clues went uncovered.
Only ONE of the contestants got Final Jeopardy! right.
WHAT ARE ALGERIA & MONACO?
The “opposite sides” part of the clue suggests looking along the African coastline at Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Morocco and Tunisia. Then, look at the European coastline: France, Greece, Italy, Monaco, Spain. It’s obvious that the tiny principality of Monaco is the smallest. Then you’d have to know or decide which country is larger: Libya or Algeria.
Here’s an FJ! clue from 2016 that helped me out.
Madeline thought it was Libya & Monaco. She lost her $2,801 bet and finished with $6,599.
Elliott had an incomplete response with France & Gr. That cost him $4,601 and left him with $9,599.
Brian got it right. He added $8,201 and won the game with $28,401. His 5-day total is $116,503.
A triple stumper from each round:
DO ME A FLAVOR ($400) 44 years after original Crunchy Cheetos, this flavor that burns your mouth & feels so good was introduced
MEDIEVAL TIMES ($2000) This Muslim leader recaptured Jerusalem from the Christians & held off Richard Lionheart’s attempts to win it back
2 years ago: NEITHER player left in FJ got this one in “Broadway Musicals”
Premiering in 2005, its story is divided into spring, summer, fall & winter, each narrated by one of the 4 male leads show

Welcome to the Tournament of Champions, Brian! Am I gonna say the same thing to Zach Newkirk? We’ll find out on Thursday.
Congrats to Brian on his fifth game win but how will he fare against zach on Thursday? The opponents today did pretty well despite not getting the geography final. This would be the first streaker in the ken Jennings host era for now. Maybe Zach can make a comeback as well once he returns.
I’m excited for Zach coming back!
