This week, there were no triple stumpers and no triple solves. Two players solved three FJ! clues and only one player got the other two. Both clues that went one of out three were on the difficult side, in terms of remembering details of an event that happened in a foreign country over 55 years ago. The easiest is a toss up between 1960s SONGS and CHILDREN’S BOOKS. For me, the “long live” song was easiest.

Here is an earlier “long live” song from Bill Haley with Caterina Valente, called “Vive Le Rock ‘n Roll”.

It was a number in a 1959 West German musical, “Here I Am, Here I Stay” (German title: “Hier bin ich – hier bleib ich”).

Jeopardy! champs, week of January 11, 2021

Jim Gilligan became champ in the last game hosted by Alex Trebek, which aired on 1/8/2021. He returned for his second game on Monday 1/11, the first game to be guest hosted by Ken Jennings. Jim lost Game 2 to Tanay Kothari. Lucy Ricketts sent Tanay home on Tuesday. She won 2 more games and a total of $79,499. Jennifer Linde won Friday’s game and will be the returning champ.

I love the music clip with Bill Haley and The Comets, VJ, such fun!

Yeah, that performance is fantastique for sure. Check out Caterina Valente on YouTube sometime, Rhonda — there are some really cool videos of her with her brother, Silvio Francesco. Also, Dean Martin, Danny Kaye, Bing Crosby and more.

Here’s a Halloween one where Caterina, Carol Burnett and Chita Rivera all dress up like Morticia Addams and sing “I Enjoy Being a Girl” — crazy!!
