WHAT IS FRANCE?

I started the above video at the point where it gets to French Guiana. It shows how all the other Guianas in South American either became independent countries or became part of Venezuela and Brazil. After that, it goes on to show the four other overseas departments and regions of France: Guadeloupe, Martinique, Mayotte and Réunion. The narrator explains what is meant by calling these five overseas departments integral parts of France. They all have the same rights and privileges as citizens of Metropolitan France. They are all part of the European Union and Eurozone. The video then covers overseas territories if you want to learn something about that.

Cameron got it right. He bet $2,103 and finished with $4,403.

Josiah also got it. He bet his lucky $8.00 and finished with $9,408.

Lucy came up with Suriname (formerly Dutch Guiana and now an independent country). She only lost $1.00 and won the game with the remaining $31,399. Her 2-day total is $64,499. Wowza!

Keep Ken Jennings as the Jeopardy host as you have a good thing going with him.

    • Desaree says:

I like Jennings but no one has the right style to host Jeopardy .. It just isn’t right. It doesn’t feel right, it doesn’t sound right, look right……It doesn’t work without our Alex 💔😭

  2. Rick says:

The correct question in the Final Category would be: What is French Guiana? Actually, that was my reply. I’m only surprised that Ken Jennings accepted “What is France” as that would have been incorrect.

    • JP says:

Ken Jennings doesn’t accept any answers (and nor did Alex previously). The producers of the show do.

The clue finished with “this European country”, so “France” is the only acceptable answer, and “French Guiana” is incorrect.

  3. Brian says:

Ken Jennings is an excellent replacement for Alex.

  4. Albert says:

Ken Jennings should have been given the Jeopardy hosting job 5 years ago. Ken is far superior to Alex Trebek.

    • JP says:

      I admire the boldness.

    • VJ says:

Albert, you said that yesterday and I really hope you are not going to feel compelled to say it on the game post every time Ken Jennings hosts! It’s really in very poor taste when Alex has passed away.

Here’s the best place to post a yea or nay on any guest host — on this Ken Jennings Jeopardy! Host post I resurrected. I just added an update from Jeopardy! on more guest hosts they named today.

It’s really odd to me that Alex Trebek said that the host is not the star of Jeopardy! The players and the material are. And although I realize it’s a big change, it just seems like no one wants to talk about the game.

  5. VJ says:

Cameron’s chat story about the unique strain of flu he contracted was hilarious!

  6. Lou says:

Lucky Lucy has made a big win once again today. Congrats to the players. Despite the fact that the opponents couldn’t.catch up to Lucy there is a chance she could string several more wins. Is there a chance that Lucy could participate in this year’s toc or will she have to wait?
