Ducks Beat Predators in Overtime and Tie Series 2-2

Corey Perry scored the winning goal at 10:25 of overtime as the Anaheim Ducks beat the Nashville Predators 3-2 in Nashville on May 18th. The victory evened the NHL Western Conference Final at two games apiece.

Anaheim had a 2-0 lead after two periods, but blew that by allowing a pair of Predator goals in the third period, including one by Filip Forsberg with just 34.5 seconds left in regulation to tie it up. That’s not what you want to do against these Predators, who went into the game having won ten straight home playoff games. But the Ducks, who were also the last team to beat the Predators in Nashville in the playoffs, doing so last season, were able to pull it out. This victory on the road was huge for the Ducks; with Game 5 and if necessary, Game 7 in Anaheim, any kind of advantage over this Predators’ team that has been excellent in the post season is important.

The series resumes in Anaheim on May 20th.

Alas, the quacks found yet another team to ultimately fold to.
I guess a lot of people in the NHL offices don’t want the Pens to lose the next two.
